he was writing the "white album" material at the time of this interview...what a great period for him and paul...george and ringo too...jack douglas who produced john's last recordings..tells of meeting john when he was like 20..was a tape operator at some studio...and how one night he's alone in the control room with john..and john made him feel so at ease and so comfortable...and that quality is what transcended to audiences...how we all felt like we knew the beatles personally...great guys..

John Lennon was absolutely nothing compared to Ray Davies in terms of song writing ability. Lennon wasn't bad either though, to be fair.

John has inspired me in song-writing. He is a BRILLIANT songwriter. There not many musicians who can write and sing like John. There are a few good people and the world is dominated with bad people. Thank you, John!! The world misses you!!
